Avon's Grand Marshal Reacts To Announcement

THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT- GARRISON KEILLOR IS COMING!

And the exciting news about who is coming? Garrison Keillor, well-known for 'A Prairie Home Companion' and his entertaining stories from Lake Wobegon, will be coming to Spunktacular Days this year! Details about the date, time, and location are coming.

GARRISON SPEAKS OUT ON HIS VISIT TO AVON!

Garrison himself posted about coming to the event! His message was:

"The Avon, Minnesota Spunktacular Days Committee has invited me to be the Grand Marshal of a parade on June 15th, celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Lake Wobegon Trail, a 65-mile biking/hiking trail on the old Soo Line Railbed.

I will be there, marching. I will also stand up in the Avon Amphitheater and talk about Lake Wobegon, my hometown, which is nearby. There will be a craft fair, petting zoo, 5K Run/Walk, turtle races, fishing contest, beer garden, and a Food Court serving sloppy joes, corn dogs, cheese curds, and pork chops on a stick. Fireworks at dusk. There will be a booth where I will sit under a sign, "Tell Your Story To A Novelist," where people can come and whisper a story to me and I'll try to put it into my new Lake Wobegon book. More novelists should consider doing this sort of thing."

PARADE
If you'd like to participate in the Parade, it is scheduled to take place Saturday evening, June 15th, at 7 pm. You can fill out the online registration form by clicking HERE. AVON SPUNKTACULAR DAYS CRAFT FAIR ON SATURDAY.

In conjunction with Avon Spunktacular Days, there will be the 'Avon Spunktacular Days Craft Fair', where you'll be able to enjoy children's activities, bean bag toss, the parade, and lots more. The Craft Fair takes place on Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm. You will need to register for your space before June 10th.
WHO'S COMING TO SPUNKTACULAR DAYS IN AVON IN 2024?
Avon 'Spunktacular Days' will be held in June this year on Friday & Saturday, June 14th and 15th, 2024. They've made some exciting announcements on social media, teasing that a very special guest will be a part of the fun event.

AVON 5K RUN/WALK
There will be lots of fun events taking place this year including the Avon 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, June 15th, 2024. Registration begins at 7 am, with the race beginning at 8 am. This run/walk is surrounded by beautiful views of the lake. The Kids Fun Run will take place following the end of the 5K, beginning at approximately 8:50 am.
