FOLEY -- Don't be alarmed if you hear sirens throughout Benton County Thursday.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office will be testing their civil defense sirens at 1:00 p.m.

Sheriff Troy Heck says the siren activation was upgraded last week and requires a live test to make sure it works properly.

Residents in Foley, Gilman, Rice, Sauk Rapids and Watab Township will hear the sirens.

If severe weather should occur near the time of test, the test will be postponed.
