Central Minnesota’s Favorite Place to get a Sandwich Is..
Last Friday was “National Sandwich Day”, and since I’m new to the area and love to eat, I asked residents from the area "where is the best place to get a sandwich?". To be honest, I already found a place that in my mind is hard to beat.
My friend Chappy told me I needed to go to Clearwater Travel Plaza. When my wife and I flew up here in early September to find a place to live, we took his advice and were really impressed by the taste, the quality of not only the meats but the bread as well. And our service was outstanding.
But because science says we must, I asked the question anyway and again, and folks from this area were happy to express what their “go to” locations for a good sandwich are. A few of the “chain” restaurants picked up votes like Jimmy Johns, Jersey Mikes, Panera and Firehouse.
I like all of those as well, but I was really hoping to get more in tune with local/regional type locations that folks flock to.
No surprise that the popular Dolsies Lunch Box Grill picked up votes. This is one of the first places my wife and I heard about when we moved here, but we still haven’t tried it yet.
Bo Diddleys also picked up votes, and this is a place I’ve eaten at. The sandwich meats are outstanding and the place smells SOOO good.
Jane checked in with us and said we needed to try Mickeys Pizza and Subs in Brainerd. I haven’t been to Brainerd yet, I guess now I have a reason.
Jana checked in on our station app and said her favorite is Great Harvest Bread Company.
So, whether you are looking for somewhere new, or you’re like me and you just like to eat, Central Minnesota has no shortage of quality places to get a sandwich. I say with choices like this, we can make everyday Sandwich Day.
