I’m firmly convinced that I grew up in the golden age of Disney films. Long before they acquired the Star Wars franchise, Disney focused almost completely on making heartfelt cartoons for young kids.

I distinctly remember watching "Toy Story" "The Lion King" and "Aladdin" repeatedly on VHS for hours (for those of you who don’t know, VHS tapes are artifacts that were used by ancient civilizations for entertainment purposes.) I was even quite obsessed with "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and am still rather fond of the Disney/Tim Burton combination.

Nearly everyone I know has a special place in their heart for one Disney film or another. Though it isn’t necessarily one of my personal favorites, a movie that is considered to be one of the all time classic Disney works is “Beauty and the Beast.” Maybe I never got into this one as much because it’s probably aimed more toward a female audience, but nevertheless, I understand why it has stood the test of time.

The plot and characters are nothing short of memorable. If you’re a fan of this classic film, now is your chance to watch it as a Broadway musical at the Paramount Theatre in St. Cloud. Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” will be running from April 6th – 22nd. Tickets cost between $18 and $28 and are on sale now.
