Elton John And Prince Films Are In Development

Music bio-pics have always been something that audiences love. From the Johnny Cash film “Walk The Line” to “Straight Outta Compton” it seems like these are the films that people of all walks of life consistently crave.

I’m not at all surprised that after the massive success of “Bohemian Rhapsody” that other major bio-pics are in the works and looking to follow suit. Reportedly, Elton John and Prince films are currently in development. 28 year old – Taron Egerton (who you probably know from “Kingsman”) – will be portraying Elton John in the “Rocketman” bio-pic. It’s set to be released on May 31^st 2019 in the United States.

Details on the Prince film, however, are less solidified. Rumor has it that Bruno Mars could be portraying Prince, but nothing is set in stone and there is no official release date as of yet. Various sources say it is more likely to be a musical based on Prince’s catalogue rather than the traditional bio-pic.
