In the past 10 years or so, the ugly Christmas sweater has picked up in popularity. People have parties with ugly sweater themes. Co-workers try to out-do each other every year. Families have made it a tradition. But where did it begin?

You could blame it on Clark Griswold in National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, or Cliff Huxtable on The Cosby Show. They made ugly sweaters popular many years ago. Then the trend faded. But it's been back for awhile, in a much bigger way!  And it's not just in the U.S. In fact, Vancouver, Canada claims to be the birthplace of the first ugly sweater party in 2002.

If you have an ugly Christmas sweater, or a fun tradition including an ugly sweater, let us know! We'd like to make fun of you, too!
