The #2 St. Cloud State Men's Hockey team (5-1-0) suffered their first loss of the season 3-2 at #18 Northeastern University Saturday night in Boston.

SCSU drew first blood when Blake Lizotte (2) scored in the first period. The Huskies extended their lead to 2-0 in the second period on a goal by Jack Ahcan (1), but that would be it for SCSU as Northeastern would go on to score the final three goals of the game.

Northeastern outshot the Huskies 32-27, and SCSU goaltender Jeff Smith had 29 saves on the night.

The loss snapped St. Cloud State's season opening five-game winning streak.

Next: The Huskies visit Colorado College this Friday (8:30 PM CT) & Saturday (7:00 PM CT) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Radio: 96.7 The River)
