You know, there are a handful of bands and artists that make it impossible to be sad when they play their upbeat tunes. Among them – Van Hagar (Yes, Van HAGAR, I didn’t stutter) Journey, and Aerosmith.

But one of the most fun, upbeat, soulful groups around is Hall and Oats. “You Make My Dreams (Come True)” “Rich Girl” and “Kiss On My List” are timeless, fun tunes. I dig it. I’ve always been a fan of their writing chemistry. I rank them right up there with Paul McCartney and John Lennon, and Simon and Garfunkel. John’s guitar licks with Darryl’s smooth, silky voice is a recipe for perfection.

These guys have been active since the 70s, and they still sound awesome. Unfortunately, they aren't coming to Minnesota anytime soon. But don't fret, Justin Ploof and the Throwbacks will be doing a tribute to Hall and Oates and Huey Lewis at their upcoming "VERSUS" show at Pioneer Place. The show is on Valentine's Day (February 14th) at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available online now for $29.
