Minnesota Has the Fattest Pets in America

According to new report on the state of pet health in America by Banfield Pet Hospitals, Minnesota has the fattest pets in the country. Both our dogs and cats tipped the scales at the highest obesity rate.

3. Michigan
4. Idaho
5. Nevada

Fattest Cats in America

1. Minnesota
2. Nebraska
3. Iowa
4. Idaho
5. Delaware

The top causes of pet obesity are lack of exercise, misunderstanding of healthy weight, overfeeding, certain diseases, and breed & genetics.

The report says that there are more than 56,000 dogs in Minnesota, and nearly 18,000 cats.
