The Minnesota Wild (39-24-7) lost to the visiting Colorado Avalanche (37-24-8) 5-1 Tuesday night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The Wild have been outscored 19-4 in their last three games against the Avs.

Colorado led 1-0 after the first period, and 2-1 after the second -- before pouring it on in the third, scoring three unanswered goals. The lone Minnesota goal came from Mikko Koivu in the second period. The Wild outshot the Avs 33-22.

 

With fourteen regular season games left, the Wild sit in third place in the division, just three points ahead of Colorado and Dallas.

The Wild travel to Nevada to face the Golden Knights Friday night in Las Vegas. The puck drops at 9:30 PM CT (TV: Fox Sports North Plus, Radio: AM 1240 WJON).
