When I was a kid, I cut my teeth on the then popular skateboarding culture, and everything surrounding it. Of course, I was never athletic enough to be able to do more than a few tricks on my board, but nevertheless it was a movement that I fell in love with.

I watched “Viva La Bam” and “Jackass” on a regular basis. I wore the skate shoes and listen to ‘H.I.M.” and “CKY.” For a LONG time, CKY was my favorite band. When I was a senior in high school, my band at the time even had the privilege of playing a show with them. Goes to show how much of an impact the “skate” culture had on my life.

Although I was always fond of Bam Margera, Ryan Dunn (rest in peace) and Johnny Knoxville, one of my favorite regulars in the CKY/Jackass crew was Steve-O. It didn’t matter what stunt he was doing, he always fearlessly jumped right on and pulled it off. Not to mention the guy was absolutely hilarious.

I always wanted to catch one of his stand-up comedy acts – and now I’ll finally get my chance to. Steve-O will be performing his comedy routine at the River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud on April 21st. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the show starting at 8:30. Tickets are only $30 and are on sale now. He’s been making me laugh since I was 10 years old, so I definitely want to check this out.
