Paynesville & Pierz Advance to State Football Semifinals

The Paynesville Bulldogs (9-2) and the Pierz Pioneers (11-0) have both advanced to the semifinals in the 2017 state football tournament next weekend at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

In the Class AA quarterfinals, Paynesville beat Barnesville 58-33 Friday night in Alexandria. The Bulldogs will face Caledonia (11-0) Thursday afternoon (11/16) in the semis at U.S. Bank Stadium at 2 PM. (Tickets)

In the Class AAA quarterfinals, Pierz beat Proctor 42-13 Saturday afternoon in Brainerd. The Pioneers will face Jordan (9-3) Saturday afternoon (11/18) in the semis at U.S. Bank Stadium at 2 PM. (Tickets)

I'll be wearing my black & red 'P' hat on Saturday -- which most people in the office think stands for Pete. Little do they know I bought it from some kids at the Pierz/Foley game a couple of years ago. Go Pioneers!
