Saturday, September 1st, 2018 set the record for the busiest single day at the Minnesota State Fair with a whopping 270,426 people passing through the gates.

The old record single-day attendance record of 260,374 was set in 2016.

The total attendance for the 2018 fair through Saturday sits at 1,633,843 -- within striking distance of the all-time record of 1,997.230 set just last year.

Will that record fall? Attendance will need to average 181,694 per day over the final two days of the fair -- with final numbers expected to be released on Tuesday.
