Yes dear reader, it’s time for my weekly Star Wars post. It’s always my favorite post of the week. So, let's get started. Before Disney acquired the rights to the Star Wars franchise, there were quite a few big plans in development – mainly, video games. Now, I’m not exactly a big gamer.

I’ve been known to play the occasional game of Mario Party, but that’s about it. I do however make an exception for the Star Wars games. Playing them is simply a matter of respect for the greatest space opera of all time. Unfortunately, Disney cancelled several of these semi-developed games after acquiring Star Wars. Lets take a look at the games what could have been.

Rogue Squadron: Rogue Leader

This is probably the game that I’m the most upset over. I absolutely loved the Rogue Squadron games for the N64 and the Game Cube. Essentially, you are a part of the rebel alliance and serve as a pilot. You play out several of the battles you see in the movies as well as some additional battles. It was a great series. I’m super bummed that we this installment didn’t see the light of day.

Star Wars: Attack Squadrons

I’m not gonna lie, this game sounded pretty awesome. It was going to be a free-to-play dog-fighting game that would’ve hosted up to 16 players at a time. Players could customize their X-Wings, TIE Fighters, and several other familiar ships from the movies and fight it out in all of the most famous environments – including the Death Star. Man, that would’ve been so cool.

Battle Of The Sith Lords

You can tell that this game was gonna be awesome just by the title. The story line would’ve focused on Darth Maul (in my professional opinion, one of the best villains in Star Wars.) Rumor has it that we would have seen him display a lot of force capabilities that we didn’t see in “The Phantom Menace” and that the game play would be similar to the Batman: Arkham games – of which I’m also a fan.

It definitely would’ve been cool to see these games materialize, but hey – what do ya do? I suppose just relax and wait to see where Disney will take things.
