When I was in high school there were a few rock bands that everybody was listening to: Avenged Sevenfold, Nirvana (though I honestly think that the posers at my school just pretended to like them because they liked they “grunge” image – I guarantee you they couldn’t name more than three of their songs) and last but not least – Paramore.

Paramore was the band that seemed to be more popular among the girls and less with the guys, but they were the talk of the town none-the-less. At the time I rebelled against all of the popular rock music that my peers enjoyed.

I played in an experimental progressive rock band at the time and thought that my avant garde tastes were superior to the generic tastes of my classmates. Of course, as I got a little older I realized that those groups were popular for a reason. Now, I love all three of the bands mentioned above, even Paramore.

“Ignorance” “Conspiracy” and even “Decode” - the tune they wrote for one of those awful “Twilight” films - are awesome songs. Hayley Williams is perhaps one of the most important singers of her time, considering the only other prominent female rock vocalist of the early 2000’s was Amy Lee (who I also love.)

Well now is your chance to rock out to Paramore live, in in concert. They’re playing The Armory in Minneapolis on July 5th. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with the show starting at 6. Tickets are on sale now starting at $55.
