I think when you engage in something artistic, you gain a new respect for all of the arts. When I was a kid, I was pretty into drawing. I used to make my own comic books and other things of the kind. Eventually I put down the pen and picked up the guitar instead.

I started playing around the time I was 13 years old and haven’t stopped since. It’s a cathartic creative outlet for me. A creative pastime that I’ve always admired that I’ve never taken the time to submerge myself in is photography. I have a couple of cousins that are skilled photographers and their pictures are pretty breath taking.

If you or someone you know happens to have an interest in photography you should check out the Photography Workshop at The Great River Regional Library (Clearwater.) The class is intended to help beginners take better pictures. It starts at 6:30 pm on June 6th with an open discussion starting at 6, and admission is free.
