A Christmas short film by an English cinematographer has recently gone viral and left much of the world in tears.

Back in 2014, Phil Beastall posted a short Christmas film he shot to Facebook. Over 200,000 thousand people watched it. Last week, he decided on a whim to post it to Facebook again. This time, it took off, soaring past 9.5 million views.

The film, titled Love is a Gift, tells the story of a young man counting down to Christmas Day. Christmas morning comes, and we find that the young man was counting down to more than just Christmas Day. Watch the short video for yourself below (and have some tissues handy!):
