Twins Beat Red Sox 6-2 at Target Field
The Minnesota Twins opened a three-game series by beating the Boston Red Sox 6-2 Tuesday night at Target Field in Minneapolis.
Tied at 2-2, the Twins erupted for four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning fueled by a Robbie Grossman triple, and another Eduardo Escobar double -- his second of the game. Escobar continues to lead the majors with 32 doubles.
Minnesota starter Jose Berrios pitched 6 1/3 innings, striking out six, giving up 5 hits, and just one run.
The Twins sit in third place in the AL Central, five and-a-half games behind first place Cleveland.
