The Minnesota Twins (73-84) jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, dominating the visiting Detroit Tigers 11-4 Wednesday night at Target Field.

Detroit scored a run in the top of the first, but Minnesota countered with three of their own in the bottom of the inning -- highlighted by a Tyler Austin 2-run homer. The Twins would get another run in the second an a solo home run by Johnny Field.

Field wasn't done, adding a 2-run shot in the fourth inning, putting the Twins up 6-4.

Minnesota added five more runs in the bottom of the fifth, three of which came across on a Jorge Polanco bases loaded triple..

Tyler Duffey (2-2) picked up the win for the Twins, pitching two scoreless innings in relief of Jake Odorizzi.
