Minnesota Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.

The NFC Player of the Week award is the first of Danielle Hunter’s career, and the eighth by a Viking defensive player under Mike Zimmer.

Hunter had a career high 3½ sacks Sunday against Detroit along with a 32-yard fumble recovery return for a touchdown. On top of that he piled up nine tackles, three tackles of loss, and four quarterback pressures.

The 24-year old Hunter leads the NFL with 11½ sacks.

The Vikings have a bye this week before facing the Bears in Chicago Sunday night, November 18th in Chicago.
