Don't hate me for this, but I WILL be shopping on Thanksgiving night. And here's why.

Some of my family members will get together at the home of my niece and her hubby and kids, as we do every Thanksgiving. We'll eat too much, watch lots of football, laugh a whole lot, play a game or two, and look through the Black Friday ads in the newspaper. And then, we shop.

BUT- we do it as a family. So, technically, it's a family activity. Mostly. It usually ends up being just the girls, and we hit the road that evening for the best bargains. We have a good time together, and then we all go home and have pie.

Last year, about 11% of people shopped in stores on Thanksgiving. Remembering the huge crowds of people from last year, I'm surprised that number isn't higher.

According to a new survey, only 37% of people say they will be shopping on Black Friday. The top reasons people won't be shopping:  Stores are too busy and it's too much of a hassle.

How about you?  Shopping on Thanksgiving? Black Friday? Never?
