The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch in effect from midnight tonight through 6 PM Sunday for portions of central Minnesota -- including Stearns, Sherburne, Todd, Douglas and Wright counties.

Accumulating snow and winds as strong as 40 to 45 mph are possible in the watch area.

A Blizzard Warning has been issued for tonight and tomorrow for the southern third of Minnesota, including Kandiyohi, Meeker, and Pope counties.

Whiteout conditions will develop Saturday night and Sunday as winds increase to 40 or even 50 mph leading to widespread blowing snow. Please stay off the roads. If you must travel, bring a charged cell phone, warm clothes, and tell someone where you are going and when you arrive.
