The fair's oldest attraction is under new ownership as of this year. 'Ye Old Mill' was operated by the Keenan family for 102 years, and has been in the same place on the fairgrounds for just as long. The ride is still ran by its original motor that dates back to 1898! The fair bought the ride from the family for its "appraised value" which was not disclosed to the StarTribune as of January 2018.

Jim Keenan, the fourth-generation operator, said the decision to sell part of his family history has been in the making for a couple of years. The ride is unique which makes it time consuming to maintain and run. The good news is that with the fair buying it, it is in great hands. They even shared a video to their Facebook page this week showing the new paint job, and water pouring into the ride! 'Ye Old Mill' is ready for its 103rd Minnesota State Fair!

The ride will be open 9:00 am – 9:00 pm every day of the fair and cost is $3.25 per rider.
