2019 Twins on Pace to Crush MLB Home Run Record

The Minnesota Twins have already surpassed their single season franchise record for home runs, and are on target to shatter the all-time MLB season team record.

The previous franchise record was set by the 1963 Washington Senators (before moving to MN) when they belted 225 homers out of the park. This year's team sits at 241 on the season so far, with 37 games to go.

In 1997, the Seattle Mariners ended the season with 264 home runs -- an MLB record that stood for 21 years, before last season's New York Yankees hit three more than the '97 Mariners, ending the season with 267.

Following last night's game at Target Field against the White Sox, the 2019 Minnesota Twins have 241 home runs, and are on pace to obliterate last year's mark set by the Yankees, on pace to knock 312 over the fence.

The Twins host the White Sox in the second game of their 3-game series tonight at 7:10 PM at Target Field.
