I'm not a fan of the cold but I do like snow. And since they both go hand in hand, we just have to deal with it. Those two partners will be marching into Minnesota soon, I thought I would try to look at it from a positive view.

Here are three things that I look forward to knowing that winter is coming.

The Fireplace

I love lighting up the fireplace in the winter. Maybe it’s some deep down, natural human instinct, but the thought of warming by fire feels good. And watching the flames dance is an added bonus.

Winter Activities

I might be getting too old for it, but I still love to ski. And part of me knows I don’t have many years left to do it. So I got to take it an advantage of it while I can. There are other fun outdoor activities to do like snowmobiling, ice fishing, etc.

The Holidays

Three of the biggest holidays of the happen in a six week period of time. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. The last one I don’t care so much about anymore. I guess it’s just another year. But this year might be different because of Covid. I’ve never wanted a year to end as much as this one.

I’m really looking forward to Christmas this year because it’s the first Christmas in our new house. And I get to spend another one with my mother, which is the main reason we moved back home to Minnesota.

And then there’s Thanksgiving, my favorite. It’s a relaxing time with family (hopefully), awesome food that I’ll eat for days, and it’s four days off of work.
