Rollie's Rednecks and Longnecks in Sauk Rapids has been a staple in the St Cloud area for live music. As one of the few places that has live music other than acoustic groups around the area, it has been a fun place to go and hang out, dance and just have a good time while listening to some popular bands from the area and also the occasional national artist.

Recently, there were some complaints that were directed at the Minnesota Tourism website Explore MN. The complaints were stating that the bar was "glorifying the confederacy".

If you are familiar with Rollie's, you know that there are so many different pieces of memorabilia around the entire bar.  Yes, there are some confederacy type things, like a confederate flag, but there are also many other things that have nothing to do with the confederacy.  So saying that the bar is glorifying the confederacy isn't really accurate.  There are pieces of decor that represents almost all areas of the United States.  Things that have been collected from all over.  One could say that instead of glorifying the confederacy, that particular decor seems to be related to the show "The Dukes of Hazzard" which was a popular show that ran from '79-'85.

Even though "Explore MN" received complaints, they also received people in favor of the bar after they were delisted.  But now, the head of the tourism website has said that the bar doesn't go against any of their policies.

She does go on to say that it doesn't seem intentional to hurt anyone. And after being initially delisted, the bar was reinstated on Tuesday night according to an article in the Star-Tribune.
