ECOBOOST ENGINE FAILURE

The specific problem concerns the 2.7 liter or 3.0 liter Nano EcoBoost Engine. The Ford EcoBoost engine may contain an intake valve that could break. If the valve fails, the driver may experience engine failure and an immediate loss of power.

VEHICLE SYMPTOMS

The check engine light should warn drivers about the Ecoboost Engine failure; and according to the recall notice, consumers may notice that their vehicle is running hard.

At this point, Ford has not received any reports of injured people because of the issue.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

If you are the owner of one of the affected vehicles included in the recall, you should take your vehicle to a Ford Dealership immediately. Ford will perform an engine cycle test and replace the engine if necessary. All labor and replacement parts will be FREE.

If you are an owner of one of these vehicles and have already had to pay to replace the engine or repair damages caused by intake valve failure, you may be eligible for reimbursement.
