Wednesday was Inauguration Day.

Highlights of the ceremony included Kamala Harris being sworn in as the first female, first Black, and first South Asian vice president; performances by Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and Garth Brooks; a poem by 22-year old Amanda Gorman, the nation's first youth poet laureate; and Joe Biden taking oath with a humongous family Bible. Other highlights -- albeit far less monumental -- included Tiger King's Joe Exotic not getting a pardon from departing president Donald Trump; speculations about what Tump's note to Biden said and Bernie Sanders. Seen bundled up in a heavy winter coat and mittens -- his arms crossed with something like a scowl on his face -- he immediately became a meme on the internet.

Amidst the countless memes at Bernie's expense, one shared to the MinnesotaMemes Instagram account has struck a chord close to home and generated some well-deserved laughs.

The same meme was also shared to the Minnesota thread of Reddit, where Minnesotans have had a heyday in the comment section.

"This isn't even my warmest coat," joked one of Sander's jacket.

"Except the shoes are wrong," argued another. "No way would he wear those shoes to sit around outside."

"Get this man some mukluks," joked a second of Sander's shoes.

"Just enjoying a nice Summit Winter Ale outside Whity’s" commented another, referencing local craft brewery Summit and Minneapolis saloon Whitey's.

"The other day I went to a McDonald's drive through, and there were people sitting outside eating at some of the outdoor tables," shared one Reddit user. "It was like 35 degrees, and I ate my food in the car and watched them sit there for an hour talking and eating, 'not cold at all.' It looked almost like what you see here...old Bernie guy and all."

For the record, the US Senator from Vermont did address his viral inauguration attire with CBS News, saying "In Vermont ... we're not so concerned about good fashion. We want to keep warm."
