Best Beer in Minnesota
Craft beer seems to be the thing to do... drinking, brewing, or whatever. It seems like it's what's popular right now. That and hard seltzers. I do wonder if it's going to stick around, or if it's going to be one of those "things" that tends to go away eventually. I hope not, because I think it's fun to try all the new releases that the are breweries provide basically on a monthly basis. Because of the pandemic, we haven't been able to do as many of these events, but you can still try and buy the beer. That's good.
There is a Home Brewers Association, and they find the "best beers of the year" in every state each year. There are over 6,000 breweries in the United States, and most of them are considered independent. It's fun to go around and do "brewery tours" just in Minnesota. And if you travel outside of the state, it opens up even more. It's fun to find the local breweries in any town that you travel to. That has been a lot less than year, for obvious reasons. It will be great when we can do that again on a regular basis.
The number one, or most popular beer in Minnesota (as voted on by this site) is the Extra Pale Ale/EPA from Summit Brewing Company. IPAs seem to be very popular as well. But that's a beer that either you love or you don't. There's really no middle ground. I would guess that's one of the reasons for the EPA popularity.
