Your Guide To The Best Christmas Lights In Minnesota
Any Minnesotans looking to get out this weekend to check out massive Christmas light displays are in luck!
WHERE ARE THE BEST HOLIDAY LIGHT DISPLAYS IN MINNESOTA?
For the last few years, Christmas light enthusiast Mike Marcotte has cataloged the State of Minnesota's best holiday displays. This year's edition boast 228 displays located throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin!
Marcotte's free guide, which is posted on the website "Give Me The Mike," features photos of most displays, an interactive map, and a spreadsheet where the displays are listed alphabetically.
BIG LIGHT DISPLAYS NEAR CENTRAL MINNESOTA
Central Minnesota locations listed include Sartell's Country Lights Festival, a residential display at St. Cloud's Middale Lane, Santa's Pioneer Village in Albany and a display titled Stop-N-Listen in Freeport.
There are several other displays to check out on this INTERACTIVE MAP.
PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL
Marcotte's guide also includes some requests from those putting on the displays, including:
- A reminder that you’re in a residential neighborhood. Keep your speed in check and noise to a minimum.
- Do not park in — or block — the driveways of neighbors.
- Pay attention to the weather. Many of these displays will close if it’s too wet (rain), or too windy.
- Insider tip: if you want to avoid crowds, do not go the weekend before Christmas. That tends to be the busiest time, according to homeowners.
There is also a "Minnesota Holiday Lights" Facebook group with even more displays posted by members.
