Bob Dylan Added to Minneapolis Music Festival this Weekend
We have been hearing so much about Bob Dylan as of late. The biopic with Timothy Chalamet, which was nothing short of amazing, the Bob Dylan Museum opened in Northern Minnesota and now we hear that he is going to be joining Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young, Dave Matthews and more at Farm Aid!
ALMOST HAD TO CANCEL
Farm Aid has been going through some uncertainty recently with the show almost being either postponed or cancelled due to the strike of the employees at the University of Minnesota where the concert was scheduled to be. Thankfully, everything was worked out last week when they came to a settlement. Thank goodness! Previously the Farm Aid spokesperson said that neither the artists or crew would cross that picket line.
THIS WEEKEND
Farm Aid will go on as planned at Huntington Bank Stadium this Saturday, September 20th. This show has an all-star lineup of performers. Some on the roster include Kenny Chesney, Wynonna Judd, Steve Earl, Trampled by Turtles, Margo Price and so many more. You can see the full lineup here.
TICKETS
This show is almost sold out, but there are a few tickets left starting at $114.
Farm Aid is coming to Minnesota to rock for family farmers for the first time in its 40 years! For complete festival information, including the artist lineup, merch, HOMEGROWN Food and Village programming, visit farmaid.org/festival/
40th ANNIVERSARY
The very first Farm Aid concert was held in 1985, so this is the 40th anniversary of the festival. It was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp and they have stayed with the festival since then. It's so cool that Willie Nelson is still performing at the age of 92. It would be great to see him at this festival.
Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp organized the first Farm Aid concert in 1985 to raise awareness about the loss of family farms and to raise funds to keep farm families on the land. Dave Matthews joined the Farm Aid Board of Directors in 2001, and Margo Price joined in 2021. Farm Aid has raised more than $85 million to promote a strong and resilient family farm system of agriculture.
The only thing to worry about now is the weather. Hopefully everything will be perfect for this fundraiser/festival.
