WAITE PARK -- As the temperatures drop and winter soon sets in, construction crews are right where they need to be on the Waite Park amphitheater.

Public Works Director Bill Schluenz says buildings like the box office, concession stand and stage house have been closed off and inside work can resume over the winter.

We have five dressing rooms inside the stage house and we are just starting to lay them out. So we are in a good spot.

As far as the stage itself, the walls are up and the roof will be put on later this week.

Schluenz says once spring arrives they will work on the exterior of the site which includes pouring concrete in the seating area.

So all the concrete in the bowl and around the site will be poured early spring.

The Ledge is expected to host about 15 to 20 national acts every year and will sit roughly 5,000 people.

It is still unknown at this time who the first few acts will be to perform.

The Ledge is expected to open this summer.
