The St. Cloud area hasn't had a dating option for a couple months now since Craigslist took their 'Personals' section down. Now there's a new option thanks to Facebook, the world's largest social media network!

Facebook announced the official news yesterday, that there are over 200 million people on Facebook who are listed as "single", so they're doing something about it. CNBC quoted Mark Zuckerberg as saying "This is going to be for building real, long-term relationships — not just hook-ups" and when this was announced, shares of Match.com dropped by 22 percent.

So how will it work? It's simple -- just turn on the feature in your existing Facebook account.

You won't be matched up with your existing friends when you opt-in to having a dating profile, and your friends will also never see that you have it turned on. Once you opt-in for the service you create a dating profile and will instantly see people that Facebook thinks are a good match for you.

Not only will you see dating matches with this free feature of Facebook, but you'll also be shown events that your possible dating matches are attending.

Here's the video of Facebook's announcement of this feature that should be coming soon:

It'll be interesting to see how this works when it's finally released. My hope is that it won't let you opt-in for the dating service if your status is "married" or "in a relationship", cause you know it will also be the death of relationships too!
