Since 1994, more than 13,000 kids have learned about the magic of live theater through a Chanhassen Dinner Theatres camp.

While camp may look a little different this summer thanks to COVID-19, the show must go on...and will! Chanhassen Dinner Theatres is taking its summer musical theatre programs online.

In an email statement, the renowned dinner theatre said:

As we continue to adapt to the current health situation, we are encouraged to see technology is making online learning a new and rewarding option. We look forward to bringing you our signature top-quality musical theatre camp experience you have come to expect from our wonderful Chanhassen teachers and are focused on developing a virtual, interactive experience like no other

Children ages 5-7 will receive daily videos from instructors focusing on basic singing, dancing and acting. Children ages 8-12 will have the benefit of added live video chats with instructors and other campers as well as video segments that teach how to use a light board, do improv comedy, how to make a wig, songs, dancing and more. Teens ages 13-18 learn skills like auditioning and performing in the real world. Youth and teen camps also offer campers the opportunity to record any of their songs, acting pieces or dance numbers and send it to their instructors for professional feedback and constructive criticism for personal growth and confidence.
