At the beginning of April, Costco instituted a policy restricting card members from bringing more than one guest into the store. That restriction has now been lifted, so now there is no limit on how many people can shop with a Costco member.

Food courts are also now open with a limited menu and only takeout is allowed for now.  Customers will still be required to wear a mask before entering the store.

Costco's CEO, Craig Jelinek, said: "Although some may disagree with this policy or question its effectiveness, we’re choosing to err on the side of safety in our shopping environments. Costco has continued to operate during this crisis as an essential business in all of our communities, and our employees are on the front lines. As part of a community, we believe this simple act of safety and courtesy is one that Costco members and employees can undertake together."

There was no word on whether the restriction on the total number of customers allowed in the store at the same time will be lifted.

Costco, it seems, has been right on top the situation since early on.  Better safe than sorry is the path they are following.  It's a little more reassuring shopping when you know that safety measures are being taken.

Actually, I kind of wish they would have kept the limit to 2 people per membership card. I can't see any reason the whole family has to come along and clog up the isles. But that's just me.
