Your Chance to Sit in an Elite Lounge at MSP May be Coming Soon
I know how nice it would be to be in the lap of luxury before and during your flight to wherever you are going. The best I have had is flying first class, and that was only because I was by myself and I was upgraded for some reason. I didn't complain, and I didn't have to pay for it. So - big score!

THERE ARE SOME REALLY NICE AIRPORT LOUNGES AROUND THE COUNTRY
However, I have never been able to sit in the elite lounges that some Delta hubs have around the country. That generally comes with a ticket for Delta One. Although, if you are flying to somewhere like Europe, and the airplane actually has a Delta One section, you still don't get that elite Delta One lounge, even though Minneapolis/St Paul Terminal 1 is a Delta hub, we do not have one of those options.
That may be changing if this proposal goes through.
WILL MSP FINALLY GET TO UPGRADE TO A DELTA ONE LOUNGE
From MSN & Minneapolis Star Tribune
A subcommittee of the airports commission, which oversees MSP, will discuss an amendment to the airport’s capital budget on Monday, April 6. Staff are asking commissioners to let them hire consultants who would verify structural capacity and estimated construction costs for the space where Delta wants to build its lounge.
MSP does have a couple Delta Sky Lounges in Terminal 1. But does not currently have a Delta One lounge. What does a Delta One lounge have as far as amenities go?
WHAT IS OFFERED IN A DELTA ONE LOUNGE
Well, it's pretty swanky.
Features of the upper-class lounges typically include nicer furniture, places to shower, spa-like areas, a la carte meal options and mixologists instead of bartenders. Often the spaces reflect a flavor of the local community’s art and cuisine.
These lounges are already at four other hubs in the United States. Those airport terminals are located in Seattle, Boston, LA and also at JFK in New York. And soon, possibly Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Even though the chances of me ever being in one of those lounges is slim to none, because you would also have to be flying in a Delta One seat, it's still cool to think that we would have one of those here in Minnesota.
