Alright.  I know that every generation sees certain things differently than some of the previous generations.  Things are always evolving and moving in different directions, it's just a part of life.

But this is ridiculous.

I am a member of Generation X, otherwise known as the "forgotten" generation, or the generation that really doesn't care.  And now, I feel a little like we are taking the place of Boomers.  Especially when you hear someone of a younger generation saying "ok Boomer" even when you're not, but it's referring to something you are doing that seems somehow "old".

This time I'm talking about texting and punctuation while texting.

I don't know about you, but if I manually put a space or two into my text messages, my phone will automatically put in a period.  And if there isn't one, and I capitalize something it will underline it like I did something wrong.  Not using punctuation would be the issue in this case.  And now I'm learning that it's not ok to use a period at the end of a sentence.  WHAT???

Apparently that can be seen as passive aggressive, harsh or even scary.  And I think that's ridiculous.  And feel free to give me the ol' Ok, Boomer.  Even though I'm not  Whatever.

How can a little period at the end of a sentence be any of those things mentioned above?  I guess I really don't put in a period at the end of the text...maybe that's what they are referring to?  This is just dumb.

Do you have kids who say that you shouldn't use punctuation in your texts?
