This isn't something that any of us want to hear when we are supporting the Timberwolves in their playoff run.

When you go to a stadium for a sporting event, or a concert, or some other type of event, you know that the food and drinks are going to be some crazy exorbitant price.  It just comes with the territory.

There is something at a stadium/arena that you DON'T expect, and that is for them to have any sort of health department violation.

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

That is exactly what is happening at the Target Center. The inspection report came from February.

Among the more concerning discoveries, four concession locations were cited after the inspector found mouse droppings on the floors along the walls, indicating the presence of rodents in food areas. Multiple locations were also cited for the presence of biofilm or mold in ice machines and a soda gun holder, according to inspection records obtained from the city.

My question is this - since the inspection was in February, has this been taken care of? Do we, as spectators and patrons of the arena, need to be concerned about eating anything?  Or, for that matter, touching anything?  Do I need to bring some cleaning wipes with me?  Yikes!

According to KARE 11, there were several other violations observed as well.  Not proper hand washing areas, an employee going from doing the dishes to handling food with no actual hand washing inbetween.

VIOLATIONS IN THE BAR AREAS

The bar areas also had some issues with hand washing violations.  Like there was no where for employees to wash their hands, or the sink was not available because they were blocked by other items behind the bar, or just weren't operating correctly.

Maybe a good idea would be to eat before you go, and stick to bottled beverages while you are there.  Good thing that the Wolves will be away for a few days.
