Here are 6 Great Things About a Minnesota Winter
When winter rolls around, which it finally has here in Minnesota, people tend to complain. Not all people, I do realize that. But there are people who do complain about winter and most things that it brings along with it.
Snow is something that people like to complain about. Mostly if you are of driving age and you need to get to work or school. And as I heard someone this weekend say, it's because of the other people on the road. When you feel you are in control of your own vehicle, but then others tend to drive like idiots. That is, from our own perspective. When I was a kid I really looked forward to the snow. It was a time for sledding and other winter sports. Just a fun time. Now, we have to drive.
People also complain about the cold. When it dips below zero, it can be downright brutal. Especially if there is any wind involved. When it's not windy, and you have to be outside it does not seem nearly as bad. But that wind can literally take your breath away. Wear a scarf! That was about the only time during the pandemic when we were required to wear masks that I actually appreciated it. Much warmer!
We have been a bit spoiled the last couple of winters with some mild-ish weather. If you are one of the complainers mentioned above, you loved the last two winters. If you are a person who loves winter and everything it brings with it, this might be the winter of your dreams.
That brings me to a list of the BEST things about a Minnesota Winter. Let's be positive about the winter outlook.
