When you think of music venues that have big musical history, some places that come to mind are CBGB's, The Roxy, The Troubadour, The Fillmore and of course our very own First Avenue...which, by the way, was a bus terminal long before it was the legendary venue it became.

Many famous artists have performed there. Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention, Ike & Tina Turner, The Kinks, The Allman Brothers, B.B. King, Rod Stewart, John Lee Hooker, Canned Heat, Pat Benetar, The Ramones, New Order, Culture Club, REM, Run DMC, David Byrne, Hüsker Dü, Replacements, U2 and of course PRINCE.

Now you'll have the chance to see the history of it. The Minnesota Historical Society is coming out with a new exhibit called "First Avenue: Stories of Minnesota's Mainroom" which opens May 4, 2019, at the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul.
