Remember the days when we used to open up the Encyclopedia Brittanica to learn about things? Yeah, we don't, either.

It's been 23 years since Google was founded. According to an article by ZD Net, Google Chrome was the most popular web browser used by internet users in 2020. In fact, Google is so popular, it's become a common part of modern talk; for instance, if we don't know something, we often say we'll "Google it" to find out more. What we used to turn to Encyclopedias and dictionaries and history books and recipe books for we now turn to Google for instead.

In fact, we've turned to Google so much that it's begun to predict our own questions! You see this every time you begin typing something into Google's search bar. For instance, I've just opened up a new internet tab and begun typing the words, "Why is." Some of the predictions Google's auto-fill finishes my search with include "Why is my my browser so slow," "Why is the sky so blue," "Why is my poop green," "Why is my eye twitching," and "Why is it important to vote" (for the record, my poop is not green...I feel compelled to clarify that).

Well, someone on Reddit got the clever idea to see how Google completed searches for each state by searching "Why is [insert state] so..." Using a map of the US, the Reddit user then filled in each state with the top answers. Here are the results:

Google completes States from r/minnesota

As you can see, the top Google result for Minnesota is "Why is Minnesota so cold?", a fair question. For the record, other top results include "Scandinavian," "rich," "cold in the winter," "nice," "great" and "humid." Our neighbors in North Dakota also earned a top Google prediction with "cold;" South Dakota's was "cheap," Iowa's was "boring," and Wisconsin's was "weird." These, apparently, are what internet users are most wondering about States in the Midwest.

In case you're wondering how Google's "search prediction" works anyway, here's what the all-knowing web browser has to say about itself:

Search predictions are possible search terms related to what you’re looking for and what other people have already searched for. Google makes search predictions based on factors, like popularity or similarity. When you choose a prediction, you do a search using the term you selected.
