A video posted online Tuesday shows the exciting end to a high-speed chase near St. Cloud.

Russell Lala and his friend were driving up I-94 when he noticed police vehicles staged in the median of the freeway and pulling what appeared to be spike strips from their vehicle. Believing there might be a chase happening behind him, he took the immediate exit to County Road 75.

While he was still on the exit ramp, a vehicle sped past his followed in hot pursuit by a state trooper. With dashcam recording, Lala caught the trooper on camera pulling a perfect PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique), the perpetrator losing control and sliding into the ditch directly in front of Lala. The vehicle was immediately swarmed by additional state trooper and sheriff vehicles, and the suspect taken into custody.

Bring Me the News reports that the chase started after a routine traffic stop about 2:30pm Tuesday.
