If you are a fan of hockey this is a great weekend for you, as you've got some options around town. Both the Granite City Lumberjacks and the St. Cloud Norsemen are in town tonight, and the 'Jacks are home all weekend as they are hosting the Minnesota Wilderness. Here's what you need to know before you head out to any of the games this weekend.
St. Cloud Norsemen
The Norsemen are at home tonight hosting the Northern Iowa Bulls, puck drop is scheduled for 7pm. Coming into the game the Norsemen are currently in 5th place with a record of 15-15-1-3. The Bulls enter the weekend home and home series with an overall record of 14-15-3-1, and are in 6th place in the Central Division, trailing the Norsemen.
You can catch the game at the MAC, details on the game and tickets can be found here.
Granite City Lumberjacks
The Lumberjacks are inside the friendly confines of the Miller Buick GMC Arena on the Benton County Fairgrounds this weekend as they welcome in the Minnesota WIlderness from Iron Range for two games. The Lumberjacks are scheduled to play at 7pm Friday and Saturday night, and coming into the weekend the Lumberjacks are in first place in the West Division with an overall record of 24-6-2-2.
The Wilderness is having a tough season and is coming into the weekend in last place in the West with an overall record of 12-20-2-1.
Still, with Alexandria just 11 points back of the Lumberjacks in the standings, the Lumberjacks shouldn't overlook the fellas from Eveleth.
