Holly Ball 2020 – Everything You Need To Know
The first thing you should know is what everybody already knows - Holly Ball is not happening - at least not in the way everyone is used to.
What is staying the same is what matters the most - and the whole point of Holly Ball - and that is helping people in our community. COVID may have canceled a lot of things this year. But people still get sick. They still need help. They still need us.
That’s why Holly Ball is not only still happening but it needs to happen - the event is just changing how it happens.
The major difference is the event is going virtual. With the COVID pandemic happening, it has to be that way. Kudos to the organizers for having the forethought to have this plan. An event like this takes a while to plan. And since nobody knew how things would be towards the end of the year, they had to think of other ways that they might still be able to host the event.
The other major difference is that it's free for everyone.
All of us can enjoy the music, bid on the auction items, and even dress up (but at your home, of course). You can also enjoy the Holly Ball meal. The event is once again a fundraiser for CentraCare Hospice and Coborn Cancer Center. But they've also added the Central Minnesota Child Advocacy Center to this year's list.
Holly Ball has raised more than $10 million over the past 45 years for cancer and hospice programming. These funds provide the little extras not covered by insurance that enrich the quality of life for our patients and their families. - @Holly Ball via Facebook
