They're the first acts announced for the 2019 State Fair.

The Minnesota State Fair announced in a media release that Hootie & the Blowfish and Weird Al Yankovic will both perform on the Grandstand at next year's Great Get Together.

Hootie & the Blowfish are set to perform on the opening night of the Fair Thursday, August 22 and will be supported by the Barenaked Ladies. Since 1994, Hootie & the Blowfish have sold over 25 million records worldwide thanks to infectious hits like “Let Her Cry” and “Only Wanna Be With You.” After forming at the University of South Carolina, the quartet went on to perform on "The Late Show with David Letterman" and eventually win numerous awards including win two Grammy® Awards, an MTV Video Music Award, a Billboard Music Award, and multiple People's Choice Awards. Tickets will go on sale Friday, December 7 at 10:00am and will range from $51 to $90.

Weird Al will perform the evening of Tuesday, August 27 as part of his Strings Attached Tour. The song parodist has won a string of awards including win two Grammy®, Gold and Silver albums awards and has joined Michael Jackson, Madonna and U2 as the only four artists to have had Top 40 singles in each of the last four decades. His 2014 album Mandatory Fun was the first comedy album in history to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Tickets for Weird Al's Grandstand show will also be available Friday, December 7 at noon and will cost $31.

Tickets for both shows will be available to purchase through Etix at etix.com or by calling 800-514-3849. Tickets may also be purchased at the State Fairgrounds Ticket Office during a limited-time opening from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7.
