Huskies Sweep Miami to Earn Frozen Faceoff Berth

Following their 5-2 victory Friday night, the #1 St. Cloud State Men's Hockey team (29-4-3) beat Miami for the second straight night, skating to a 6-3 win Saturday -- earning a berth in next weekend's Frozen Faceoff.

Not only does the pair of wins send SCSU to the Xcel Energy Center next weekend, but closes the home action with an unbeaten 17-0-1 record at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.

After winning the regular season title, the Huskies will be shooting for the NCHC post-season crown; joining Denver, UM-D, and Colorado College Friday and Saturday at the Frozen Faceoff in St. Paul.

The Frozen Faceoff semifinals will feature SCSU vs. Collorado College at 4:08 pm, followed by UM-D vs. Denver at 7:38 pm at the Xcel Energy Center. The championship game is Saturday night at 7:38 pm.  (TV: CBS Sports Network, Radio: 96.7 The River)
