Punxsutawney Phil has made his declaration. It's going to be an early spring. At least for the Pennsylvania area. This is supposedly a big deal because an early spring prediction has only happened 21 times out of the 134 predictions made.
Farmer's Almanac is about 50% accurate.
Closer to home, Jimmy The Groundhog went the other way and predicted six more weeks of winter. This ceremony has been going on in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin for the last 72 years. People in Sun Prairie have proclaimed it the "Groundhog Capital of the World". Of course, Punxsutawney disagrees.
They claim that Jimmy the Groundhog has an accuracy rate of 80%. But no one knows how accurate that number is.
