Whether it’s Spider-Man swinging through Downtown Minneapolis or Godzilla stomping near Duluth’s Aerial Lift Bridge, his photos bring these characters to life.

Minnesota Artist Uses Toys and Local Scenery

Valdez often uses clever tricks and repurposed items to create immersive scenes. He finds miniature props at local thrift shops and even uses cans of compressed air on dirt or snow to simulate explosions or motion. Many of his images feature real Minnesota landscapes, adding authenticity and regional flair.

After shooting and editing the images, Valdez shares his creations on Instagram under the handle @fatherfigures. His feed includes fan-favorites like Superman soaring past the Duluth Lift Bridge and epic battles staged across Minnesota scenery or from a makeshift garage studio.

Valdez's work has gained recognition from major outlets including Hasbro, Star Wars' official social accounts, and Entertainment Weekly. Despite the national attention, he remains deeply connected to Minnesota’s photography and artist community, mentoring others and offering tips on how to get started.
