I had to give the ruler in these pics a second glance as it appears perch are biting hard right now on this Minnesota lake, which is more known for its walleye and northern fishing than it is known for its perch. Beachside Resort on the Southside of Mille Lacs shared the pictures of the jumbo perch that were recently reeled in.

**JUMBO PERCH BEING CAUGHT**
We have had a couple 12" perch pics sent in today, and have had some reports of over 40 caught with a good number of keepers! Stop in the baitshop, grab some bait, and talk to an ice guide, and we will point you in the right direction.
We hope to see you for this beautiful weekend on the lake!

While it's a tad breezy out there today, local bait shops across Central and Northern Minnesota are calling for good fishing.

Those looking at heading up to Central Minnesota for some hardwater fishing should maybe stop and get bait before arriving, according to Lyback's online fishing report, it appears that some bait shops are struggling to get different types of bait.

"Fishermen coming up to Mille Lacs should call and check bait availability from the places they normally get it from up here before just driving up and expecting it.  The bait suppliers in this area are having difficulty keeping up with demand, and because of the shortages, prices are high. (the consequence of supply and demand)… It might be easier to get it on the way up."

Of course, if you are heading out onto any area lake, make sure you clean up after yourself when you leave, no one wants to fish in your garbage.
