
Potential Severe Weather Brings Extreme Meteorologist To Southern MN
Fans of meteorology or the power of nature should keep an eye on areas south of the Twin Cities today. The weather is expected to be the right opportunity for some extreme weather, which has brought a well-known storm chaser to the land of 10,000 thunderstorms.
Reed Timmer Is Patrolling Southern Minn & Northern Iowa
Extreme Meteorologist Reed Timmer was on social media this afternoon announcing that he would be in Northern Iowa and Southern Minnesota this afternoon and into the evening as the potential for severe weather is high.
Who is Reed Timmer? He has a PhD and is "known for intercepting over 1,000 tornadoes and numerous hurricanes using armored 'Dominator' vehicles. His presence nearby matters because it signifies a high-probability, dangerous, severe weather event, serving as a real-life alarm bell to take cover immediately."
The National Weather Service has also provided guidance for the potential swath of severe weather for parts of Minnesota.
Potential For Baseball-Sized Hail
According to a post to X from the National Weather Service at 12:10pm, the potential for baseball-sized hail exists in Minnesota today, including Central Minnesota.
